It's Prayer and Fasting again, as I remind myself to write for my faithgoals for 2015 before the year ends, I was amazed on how God moved, answered, and blessed my prayers for 2014. There were blessing that wasn't part of my faithgoals for 2014 and Im thankful for all those things.

For this year, I have summarized my faithgoals in three things:
  1. To know God more and to dwell to his presence
  2. To spend more time in my family and bless them
  3. To  grow as a person in areas on my finances, career, spirituality, and character.

With other faithgoals, I leave it to God.

Summary and Highlight of 2014

January   - Started the year right with Prayer and Fasting. It’s the month when I had my first client and handled training alone.

It’s also the month when I experienced staying with my uncle whom I just met after the death of my dad, his wife treated me well until one day, I felt like I’m not welcome anymore so I decided not stay with them .
February  - My birth month.  It’s the first year in my life where mom didn't cook anything on my birthday.  But it’s still a happy birthday for me. I had the chance to become the speaker in one of our youth’s activities in the Church. It’s the best gift ever.
And I was surprised by my sisters in Christ on that night .
This month, we had a valentines date on a fancy restaurant.

March  - Heart Breaking Month. One of my mentors in the office had her last day. I just wished she stayed, but I know she’s happy wherever she is now. And on this month, I experienced being  the master of the ceremony on our company’s Jumpstart Event.

April – The Vigan Tour was the first travel experience for the year.  That was unforgettable.

May – Annual Youth Camp for our Church with the Theme “greater”.

Greater on the event venue; Batangas. Greater on the transportation; Air Conditioned Bus. Greater on the challenges we faced even before and after the event. This Month was a test of faith, friendship, fellowship, and  all the year round, it continues to be a “greater” encounter, trials, faith as it is.
June – I had my project signed on go Live Phase. I thank the Lord for that. It wasn’t a stressful project.  From being a cell group leader, I was moved to lead the singles in the Church.
July – I thought it would be a “so so” month because I was just staying in the office while all my officemates were on the field work, But to my surprise, It’s the month where I had my first plane flight. I was assigned in Gensan and experienced travelling alone in far place.

August – I was still staying in Mindanao for the first week of this month. I met and be friends with some of VCF’s Law students. Travel in Davao and explore the City.

September –  This month  I decided to stop the communication with an old lover. Our relationship was over for almost a year yet I continue to see and talk to him. It  was you know, the wisest decision I’ve ever made this year so far.
October – After  a long time, I finally have a project again. And that project is not an easy project. I also have a hard time communicating with other people. But I keep fighting. I also had a chance to meet my siblings in my father side. It's my dad's death anniversary. How time flies.

November - The hard time became hardest on my work as well as my relationship around me. But I kept believing that God is the God who comforts me all the time.
December - The busiest month of the year. The reunion is everywhere. I was elected as the treasurer in our Alumni

There are a lot of things I am thankful about this year. Including travelling in places I've never thought I would ever be.

Post-Father’s Day Post

While everyone was busy greeting their dad last June 15, the official Father’s Day date, I didn’t go online. It only breaks my heart so see everyone posting pictures with their dad and appreciating them. Oh how I wish I could also do the same. But it’s impossible now.

Maybe some of you already read my blog post about my dad, that for the past 23 years, He’s not beside me. I only had the chance to see him when he died. Gone the days when I’m still hoping to be embraced. No more dancing with my dad again song. It’ll never happen anyway. And I regret that I stopped looking for him. But I have forgiven myself. It happened. I can’t take back the time.

Even if it’s a late father’s day post, I want to write for two groups of people.
A.      Those who still have their dad
I don’t know what your story is. I don’t know if you’re dad reflects a kind of father we have in heaven. It could be yes. If could be no. Whatever it is. Maybe, your dad beats you. Or maybe your dad shows a loving father.  Whether your dad shows that he’s proud of you or not, appreciate your dad. Show him that he’s the most important man in your life. Love him and respect him. Why? Because first and foremost it’s a commandment from God. And second, He’s your dad and nothing can change that. You’ll only regret that you didn’t make him feel loved once he’s gone. And third, you’re blessed enough that you still have him.

B.      Those who didn’t see their dad yet
Look for him while you still have time. Believe me, it’s as heartbreaking as losing my own life to see my dad on his coffin without hearing any words from him. Go after him. Create a wonderful memory with him like you’ve always dreamed of when you’re still a child. And forgive him. Forgive him that he left you. He might have reasons why he left you. By the time you meet him. Ask him why. And forgive him. There’s no perfect father here on earth. These. But don’t worry. God is father to the fatherless. You don’t need to look for a father figure in your life.

I’ll be glad if you share your story about your dad. Please do send me an email at marjietayoto@gmail.com

Which Part of the Movie Made Me Cry?

My mom is the only one raised me, sent me to school. You know, I didn't grow up with a dad for the past 21 years . I never experienced greeting him a happy father's day ( I am wishing I could ) Didn't have a chance to date him.

In every movies I've watched, it's not the separation of the main actors and actresses made me cry, not even death in any characters. But what made me cry in every movies, is that, the moment, a father, hugs his son/daughter. The moment when a father reconcile with his kids. It's when the father hug and kiss his daughter.  I really wish I had a chance to hug my dad too and say I love him.

But I am still thankful that my life is complete. Thankful that God is the father to the fatherless.

Happy Father's Day to all Fathers :)

My prayer for the election 2013

Dear Lord,

You commanded us to submit to the authority (1 Peter 2:13) I pray that the authority who will be sited is the the person you appointed. Do not let cheaters win. Let you will be done on this country.

I pray that all voters will vote according to your standards. Open their eyes so they can see people who really deserve to win, open their hearts so they can understand the importance of their votes.

I pray Lord for a peaceful election day. I pray that there will be no violence to this awaited event.

You said to your word, that your plan for us is to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11), give us a heart that will be faithful to believe and trust in you that there's always a hope for our country.

You knows what's best for us. LET YOUR WILL BE DONE

Choose to STAND for your generation!

Doctor Jose Rizal said "Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan"

If you are a youth of this generation, I encourage you to vote and to exercise your right and your obligation to this country.  You have to do it for yourself and for your future.

If you are a young pro of this generation, I encourage you to vote. It is your right. You've been obliged to pay the taxes. And now, you have the power to choose to whom you'd entrust the taxes that you're paying.

If you are a parent of this generation, I encourage you to vote. The  official  who will soon sit and govern our country/city/municipality lies in your votes.

And I encourage you not just to vote. But to VOTE WISELY. Do not vote someone just because he/she is a relative of an old official. Do not vote someone just because his/her advertisement is funny. Do not vote someone just because he/she is gwapo/gwapa. Remember that it is not about the looks that matters, but the brain and the heart to serve.

If have been tired hearing the same platforms and promises of officials-wanna-be. I am telling you, they are not all the same, you just have to know who are trustworthy and who are not. Who are born leaders and who are trying hard.

Exercise your right! Do your obligation! VOTE INTELLIGENTLY!

If I were Samson, then you are my hair...

because you are the source of my strength.

Thank you mama for waking up early just to prepare my breakfast. Thank you for preparing my baon everyday. Thank you for buying me clothes every weekends. I appreciate it. At my age, I should be the one doing those things, but you still do it for me. Thank you for waiting me every night, and even late nights after office. Thank you for supporting  me in everything I do.

I've been always  grateful that you are my mom. Thank You for showing me that you're strong. It inspires me a lot and it makes me strong too. Happy Mother's Day Mama! I love you with the love of the Lord. And I pray for more days that we can go to church together!!!

What are you willing to leave on the cross?

As we celebrate the Lenten Season, May we all remember the reason behind it.

2 Cor. 5:21, "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

  • God loves you so much (John 3:16)
  • Jesus died for you
  • And He died for you sins.

Jesus died for your selfishness, for the cheater, for the adulterer, for the self-centered person, for the corrupt. Jesus died for all of us. May we all embrace the importance of what Jesus did on the cross.

what happened to "'til death do us part"

I was reading a blog and saw a controversial post about a Cristine Bersola-Babao's write up in a newspaper about "being gay'. I have read all the comments from the poll and found this anonymous comment

The problem is not being gay, the problem is being sexually available to anyone, experimenting with anyone.. this destroys the foundation of being a family.

the problem these days is the lifestyle being proclaimed as cool is being sexually active and available, male or female.. whats next - STD, teen pregnancy, abortion, homeless children, poverty, prostitution.. and it is always the young that suffers.. selfish

a straight person which engages sex with a lot of partners is also at fault for not giving value to commitment and family.. so they are just the same

tell me, why do gay people fight for the right to same sex marriage but only a few really ended as partners. and why do we want to legalize divorce, back up plan?

what happened to "'til death do us part"

simple, commit yourself to family (wife, husband, partner), and have a child, so that commitment goes to another level.. if you cant or is impossible to have, adopt one

This is self explanatory. Let us value the importance of family.

Then who deserves a second chance?

Sometimes, in order to move on from what used to be good memories, we have to let go and give it a SECOND CHANCE.

What can you say about this new video from ayos dito? Ayos na ayos diba?

  • Buy 13 shoes
Let's Get it on!!!:71:

Welcome 2013!!!

If you experienced failures for 2012, worry not. God is making everything new for you. As we welcome 2013, Let us leave the past 2012 behind and strain toward 2013.

And if you still writing your New Year's Resolution, drop it off. Instead of writing a new year resolution, Get a paper, and write your prayer list. Pray to God what you want to be, what you what for the new year. And remember what was written in Mark 11:24

Everything you ask for in prayer will be yours, if you only have faith.

Merry Christmas!!

When everyone hates you for just ONE mistake

I know you already  watched the viral video of a student who yelled to one of the lady guards of LRT  Santolan station. It was posted last night and it's a trending topic in all social networking sites today. The video spread rapidly and it happened that people traced the student behind this and bash her in twitter. She received negative feedbacks about the video. And today, a new word is used to describe her AMALAYER

I can not blame those who called her with names. Uneducated. Unrespectful. Famewhore and so on. The video says it all. She's rude.

Because of that video, I realized things today

  1. No matter how pissed, tired, or stressed you are, always show respect to everyone. Beacuse everyone gets tired.
  2. If you're having a bad day, do not let anyone suffers for you.
  3. Everyone will only remember what you did wrong. So be careful in every actions you do

10 scary things about the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012

(SPOT.ph Cyberspace has become the platform of the best and worst things that people can come up with when they're online. While it's a hotbed of game-changing ideas and artistic expression, it has also turned into a breeding ground for trolls and cyberthugs. That being said, well-meaning Pinoy lawmakers thought it best to pass Republic Act No. 10175 or The Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.But, wait! There's a catch. This very same law that professes to protect us from those who would do us wrong via digital means also threatens to take away our freedom to say what we want.
Senator Tito Sotto proudly owned up to the fact that he was responsible for inserting the libel clause into the law. Senator Chiz Escudero called the insertion a "mistake" and has said that he'll move to have the law repealed. Meanwhile, Senator TG Guingona (along with the other senators who didn't back the law) continues to be against the law. For its part, Malacañang said President Noynoy Aquino thoroughly reviewed the law before he affixed his signature to it—a fact which strikes some people as strange. There are those who have remarked that if P-Noy's father, Ninoy, was still around, he probably be among those protesting what has come to be called as "cyber martial law."
For the record, the following senators voted to pass the law:

  1. Sen. Tito Sotto
  2. Sen. Bong Revilla
  3. Sen. Manny Villar
  4. Sen. Lito Lapid
  5. Sen. Koko Pimentel
  6. Sen. Jinggoy Estrada
  7. Sen. Loren Legarda
  8. Sen. Chiz Escudero
  9. Sen. Ping Lacson
  10. Sen. Gringo Honasan
  11. Sen. Pia Cayetano
  12. Sen. Bongbong Marcos
  13. Sen. Ralph Recto
Sure, the law does have some good points, but its "nasty parts" can't be ignored. With the help of InterAksyon.com's series of articles about the Cybercrime Prevention Actas well as news clips from GMA-7, ABS-CBN, and ANCwe have listed 10 of the law's scariest parts:

1. It only wants to hear nice things . If you're a law-abiding citizen who happens to use blogs, Facebook, and Twitter to let the world know about your beef against, say, certain elected officials who are far from being geniuses—then you've been living a lie. Under the Cybercrime Prevention Act, you're just like any other cybercriminal. Your tweet about the barangay captain who loves San Miguel more than his job? That could be classified as libel, which is defined in the Revised Penal Code as "the public and malicious imputation of a crime, or of a vice or defect, real or imaginary, or any act, omission, condition, status, or circumstance tending to cause the dishonor, discredit, or contempt of a natural or juridical person..." Take note of the part where it says "real or imaginary." You're damned if you're lying and you're damned if you're telling the truth.

2. It champions the dead by asking the living to shut up. Under the Cybercrime Prevention Act, you would also be committing a crime if you "blacken the memory of one who is dead." So, what happens if the person who died was a criminal who molested kids, backed a law that resulted in thousands of people being tortured, or killed journalistsand you're documenting his or her evil deeds for a history book? Out of being nice, do you erase the "bad parts" of his or her life? The law says, if you can't say anything good, then you better not say anything at all. That's great for petty issues but not when we're talking about people who use their position to take advantage of defenseless individuals.
3. It's so "special" that it hurts. In an InterAksyon.com article, News5 resource person Atty. Mel Sta. Maria—who teachers at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law—pointed out that the Cybercrime Prevention Act is tagged as a mala prohibita law. Sta. Maria explained: "It is an accepted legal rule that offenses under special laws are considered mala prohibita as distinguished from mala in se. [For mala in se], there must be a criminal mind to be convicted. In murder, theft, robbery and other offenses punished by our Revised Penal Code, for example, intention to do wrong is an essential element. [For mala prohibita], there need not be a criminal mind. The mere perpetuation of the prohibited act is enough." So, even if you're kidding around by using somebody's name as a verb or noun to signify not-too-admirable acts (Noynoying, Sottomy, etc), you could get arrested.
4. It's a time traveler. In an InterAksyon.com article written by Patrick Villavicencio, University of the Philippines College of Law Professor Atty. JJ Disini said that under the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 the so-called "victims" and their lawyers "could argue in court that old libelous posts [that are] still live today can be charged with online libel." The report further quoted Disini, who explained, "Kasi pwede nilang sabihin na (Because it could mean) by keeping it there today, you’re still publishing it now. So if you’re still publishing it after the law took effect, then you’re liable for its publication today." So, that scathing post about your ex that you put up way back in 2004? You could end up going to jail for that. It's an I Know What You Posted Several Summers Ago scenario.
5. It's outdated. An InterAksyon.com article, citing Human Rights Watch (HRW) Asia, noted: "The Philippines' libel law, enacted during the American colonial period and intended mainly to stifle dissent, continues to consider the offense a criminal act. Media organizations contend the law on libel has most often been used by people in power to harass journalists and muzzle critical reportage."
6. It won't like you liking what it doesn't like. Those who play a part in unwittingly or willfully encouraging the spread of libelous content shall be charged for abetting libel. That means the act of clicking the "Like" button of Facebook or retweeting posts on Twitter may be tagged as unlawful as well. Time to "unlike" those anti-establishment Facebook pages and unfollow those fake Twitter accounts spoofing persons in power.
7. It's prudish. Under the Cybercrime Prevention Act, cybersex is a crime. We agree that it is so—when it's a profit-oriented venture taking advantage of hapless individuals such as minors or those who have been directly or indirectly coerced into the seedy industry. The law defines cybersex thus: "The willful engagement, maintenance, control, or operation, directly or indirectly, of any lascivious exhibition of sexual organs or sexual activity, with the aid of a computer system, for favor or consideration." However, what if cybersex is done by two consenting adults? If a woman sends a picture of herself eating ice cream in a suggestive manner to her boyfriend, will she be stoned to death sent to jail if someone rats her out?

8. It shits on wit. In his InterAksyon opinion piece, Ramil Digal Gulle explained: "Interestingly, the Supreme Court of the Philippines has also ruled that even ironic, suggestive, or metaphorical language could be considered libelous. You don’t have to directly call someone a liar and a thief to get sued for libel. It’s enough to suggest it or state it sarcastically—as long as you do so in a public manner like posting on the Internet." (We're taking this opportunity to ask our followers, to please visit us in jail if they have the time or if they're not already in jail with us.)
9. It won't play fair. In an InterAksyon.com article, Atty. Mel Sta. Maria pointed out: "Section 1 of Article III of the Bill of Rights of the 1987 Constitution provides that 'no person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law, nor shall any person be denied the equal protection of the laws.' However, under Section 19 of the Cybercrime Prevention Act, 'when a computer data is prima facie found to be in violation of the provisions of this Act, the Department of Justice (DOJ) shall issue an order to restrict or block access to such computer.'" No court intervention is needed, the DOJ can go right ahead and compel you to stop publishing your posts.

10. It's got killer penalties. If you get nabbed for online libel, you may spend a maxiumum of 12 years in prison and be fined a maximum of ₱1,000,000. It's like a trick question: Would you rather shell out the hefty amount that would kill you or would you rather waste 12 years of your life behind bars, where, at some point, you'd wish you were dead?

Ten facts about the RH Bill

  1. #RHBill gives a person freedom to choose what family planning method to use, or NOT to use any method at all.
  2. #RHBill does not legalize abortion. In fact, it explicitly adheres to the penal law on abortion.
  3. #RHBill does not impose an ideal family size and leaves this decision to couples.
  4. : #RHBill respects the religious convictions and cultural beliefs of all.
  5. #RHBill will not teach a 10-year-old how to use condoms. RH education is age- and development- appropriate.
  6. #RHBill promotes BOTH natural & artificial methods.
  7. Contraceptives are safe and effective family planning tools
  8. #RHBill will not indiscriminately distribute condoms to all.
  9. An average of 11 mothers die daily. That’s a fact.
  10. #RHBill will not force anyone to act against their ethical or religious beliefs.
It sounds good yeah. Government will provide contraceptives to the people, but can you imagine?
